Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking

Kate's Funny Cake recipe is delicious! Made it for dessert tonight for my Penns. Dutch dinner. Served pork chops and applesauce, dried corn and onion pie. Dessert also included Lemon Sponge Pie - a recipe from a real Amish woman, Susie. she gave it to me many years ago when we were in Penns.

Windy today. Nice slow day. Good friends for dinner. Hope Gretchen and Chili are making Hillary news in El Paso. We're full and happy!

I didn't get to go to Texas, grandson in juvie, hearing tomorrow, which is primary day. Family has to come first as you believe yourself! I love Bisbee. Hoping we can buy Wendy's house, but lots to think about. Everyone LOVED your funny cake!!! Thanks for the recipe!

Oh I see, well we can watch what's happening with Gretchen's journey, along the way. I was really hoping she would have blogged this morning about Mesilla, but not yet. I checked out the hotel they will stay in in downtown El Paso, compliments of you, and it looks amazing, I googled it! Good luck on the hearing!

Gretchen called last night to say Bill Clinton would be in El Paso tonight. when she arrived in EP, the Hillary staff looked at the car but did nothing. She called me and I told her to call the tv stations which she did. Then all 4 stations came and filmed her car!!! The staff there just didn't understand how important the publicity would be with the car! I'm really proud of her! Gretchen, that is!
